Pretty woman …. Pretty handbag! Ideal brides maids or mother of the bride hand bag project

The Lucy sewing pattern is almost ready. We are going to sample the Lucy in two different fabrics and sizes which will provide two very different uses or sense of occasions.

One in eco leather and a smaller version in cotton organdy/ organdie. We are thinking the eco leather version would suit a formal ‘dress to impress’ type of occasion and the smaller design would work well for bridesmaids and for little flower girl baskets at a wedding.

The image attached is the draft version of the Lucy where we test proportions and draft the pattern guidance notes prior to launch.

About Fable & Guild We are a small design and sewing pattern drafting studio based in the UK. We are really excited about designing, developing and drafting sewing patterns and knitting patterns that really do follow seasonal fashion trends. This philosophy is where we believe we are different and can make a difference to the home knitter and sewing enthusiasts. Our head designer is RCA trained (Royal College of Art) in women’s wear design and has exhibited her work in both the UK and in Europe. A watchful eye is kept on the seasonal ready-to-wear collections by the design team as the fashion designers demonstrate their catwalk prowess and innovative creativity to the world and where fashion news becomes fashion trend. Our design principles are also drawn and inspired by the extravagant and exclusive haute couture houses where extreme attention to detail and silhouette can be observed. The fashion catwalks of Paris, Milan, London, and New York, not to mention Brazil, Japan and India who are really breaking new ground in trend led design, is where we review and consider exactly what is going on in the heady world of fashion! We aim to bring you accessible ready to make catwalk inspired design. We believe that home made can mean high fashion and that Ready-to-Wear and Ready-to-Make has resonance in our daily sewing and knitting lives.
